Kiersten Ways is an inaugural female Eagle Scout and a founding member of Troop 2998.
Her journey began on February 1st, 2019, when BSA officially allowed girls to join the program. She held many positions in her troop, including Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, and Troop Guide.
Kiersten had previously been a Girl Scout for ten years and achieved the Silver award, the second highest award in the program. She went on to earn the Eagle honor in less than two years.
This included her Eagle project, which was creating a lost-and-found cart for a local neighborhood pool and swim team, the Del Prado Stingrays.
Kiersten graduated from Amador Valley High School in 2021 with a 4.02 GPA, and is currently pursuing an Associate Degree in Music from Cuesta College. In addition to performing with Cuesta’s vocal ensembles and being an independent singer-songwriter, she seeks to specialize professionally in voice pathology.
She is grateful to her troop mentors, community, and fellow Scouts for being with her every step of this unprecedented journey.
