On January 13th, 2021, Taryn passed her Eagle Scout Board of Review. Her Eagle project involved planning and organizing the sewing of over 70 masks for New Bridge Foundation, a substance abuse recovery center located in Berkeley. After designing a mask pattern, she led a group of scouts and adults in creating masks.
Taryn was the first Senior Patrol Leader for the newly formed Troop 998 G. Other leadership positions in the troop include Scribe, Troop Guide, Patrol Leader, Outdoor Ethics Guide, and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader.
During her Scouting journey, some of Taryn's favorite activities were backpacking trips, including a 2 week trip in Philmont, whitewater rafting, a ropes course, and a ski trip.
Taryn's favorite activity was mountain biking at Wente Scout Reservation. Her passion lead to a position as a counselor working at the mountain biking program area for two summers.
Outside of Scouting, she enjoys skiing, reading, biking, and working out. Taryn will be attending Las Positas Community College majoring in Psychology.
She plans to stay involved in Scouting through becoming an Assistant Scout Master in Troop 998 G.
